Tree Trimming & Pruning
Most January and February emergency calls are the direct result of deferred pruning. A silver maple with unchecked lateral branches in July becomes a liability when Lansing gets its third consecutive freeze-thaw cycle. Pruning before October eliminates most predictable failure points.

A 4-inch dead limb over a porch is a hazard that costs $80 to remove proactively and $800 to deal with after it comes through the roof. We identify and remove all dead, dying, or structurally compromised wood during the pruning visit.
Trimming branches away from rooflines, gutters, power lines, AC units, and fence lines. Most common on properties along Michigan Avenue on the Eastside and older Southside lots where trees have grown into utility infrastructure over decades.
Between April 1 and July 31, nitidulid beetles active throughout Ingham County carry oak wilt fungal spores. A fresh pruning cut on a red oak during this window is a direct infection path. The Michigan DNR and MSU Extension are explicit about this. If another company offers to prune your oaks in May without mentioning this, ask them about oak wilt.
